IT'S SATURDAY?? SVAT'S SNU WIF U?

Would you believe it's 4:15 a.m. and I'm all showered, dressed and ready to go to the hospital to test "my babies?" I called the nursery and there are 10 new babies from yesterday! I haven't tested babies for well over a month because I was in Calif. for two weeks, and then couldn't go because of lingering cold. I hope I remember how to do it!
It's pitch black outside and I can hear the wind and the ocean, but not sure how warm it is. Yesterday we had Kona winds (backwards) and it was nice and warm in the afternoon....in fact the sunbathers came out for several hours of "browning."
I had a wow moment yesterday. I live on the 3rd floor and our elevator is being rebuilt so I either have to WAY down to the other end to use that elevator, or use the stairs. I use the stairs except when I have a bunch of stuff to bring in. I got to my car yesterday and forgot my taxes which I was going to mail. Would you believe I RAN up those three floors of stairs and didn't think twice about it??? It dawned on me when I was about five miles from home that I ran up those stairs and didn't even breathe hard. I think that qualifies as a WOW moment! I couldn't WALK up those stairs 2 and a half years ago without stopping a lot and being totally out of breath at the top.
My scar from panniculectomy (12/3/09) is looking really good, too. Naked, I look like I have a reddish belly chain. Maybe I should glue rhinestones on my scar.....ya think? I still wear a body shaper not because doc wants me to, but because I like the feeling of being held together. When it gets really warm, that will have to go.

Hey Red! Good morning to you too! And a good morning to all other OFF partners in crime!
Yesterday was wear red for women's health day, and our heart center staff put on some good programs. Breakfast was heart healthy, we had 2 co workers speaking about their heart issues, and a guest speaker who is fantastic. For lunch the same guest speaker and a nice box lunch. Last evening Gary and I went to Penn Station for supper and then he isn't happy with his new mattress so we went back there while he tried out a bunch of other mattresses to decide which one he wants to get. We also looked at furniture and I found a set I liked but with impending furnace and mounting debt in my future, I just cannot right now. Of course my mothers first response was "well it does you no good to get new furniture as long as you have THOSE DOGS that get on it all the time, they will just ruin it....." Sometimes I would like to say what I think but don't because after all she is my mother but....
Taking the new dog to get bathed and groomed. Depending on how he does with the cats here he MAY be considered by a gal I know from work. Otherwise he will go onto our website for adopt by owner. I think while he is getting groomed I will run tax stuff up to preparer so I can get going on that and hopefully get a good refund this year. Ya know, it would just be nice to once in a while get what we earned instead of paying all these taxes. HA, they take out 1/3 it seems of each check in taxes. AND WHY I have to pay Maumee tax just because I work there AND pay Swanton tax =- which I don't mind paying because I LIVE here, but Maumee pulls out more taxes then Swanton does! GEESH! nothing like getting screwed! I get no benifit from Maumee's services what so ever. HMPH. I know that's the way it is, but I don't have to like it now do I?

My doc isnt to happy with me.
I hope it warms up today it has been below 60 for the past few days so I have been very cold all the time.
I wish I was going to Denver sooner than the 2nd of March but that will come soon enough.

Woke up this am sneezing, I suspect hubby is sharing his cold so I don't dare go see my mom. She is 95 and sure doesn't need this nasty business. I have 2 foster babies under 4 as I do specialized care for traumatized kids (sexually molested). Steve wanted pancakes for breakfast and I'm out of flour so I sweetly volunteer to go pick some up from MickeyDs I'm gone a total of 18 Min when I get Home I have 5 more kids! 5 teenagers! I'm licensed for 4 foster kids!
Does this count as a legit gripe? Hubby cannot say no to kids in need. Hes almost as bad at that as I am. We've had the kids before when gramma is hospitalized, better us than split into several foster homes if they get stuck in the system. The child protective system sucks in our county. the pastor brings them here when gramma gets sick. We suspect that if they ever get into the system they'd not be allowed to go back to gramma.
I finally got the eating machines filled up and they are off in Steve's car for their own activities for the day so I'm taking the little ones off to good will and salvation army on a quest for a lamp. I like very expensive but cant afford it so I haunt the places I can afford till i find a treasure!

Nothing exciting planned for the weekend. I think it's time to clean up all the little stuff that's been congregating in the corners and on the surfaces (ANY surfaces!) since the floors went in. I have nowhere to be and nothing better to do. It might be a soothing weekend. I'm one of those people who likes to putter and make things neat.

First load of laundry is in, including the 5 great tops I got for under $15 at the new Salvation Army store I found Thursday, and the 3 new sweatshirts I got at Penney's and Christopher and Banks for $6 each. Since I'm always cold, I figured I might as well be stylish. That's a load of laundry all by itself. There will be ironing, but I'm in the mood, so that's not bad today.
Boring day for most, soothing for me. I've always been a little different....
May catch a movie tomorrow with a friend, or just do more stuff around the house. It seems like I've been running for weeks. This weekend will be a nice change.
It's supposed to warm up this weekend. It's been in the low teens for weeks, supposed to get to 40's today. A veritable heat wave!!!! Stuff is already melting outside. That alone is enough to lift my spirits.

Hello, family!
Well it got above freezing here today...it's SUMMER!!!!! (well, I can DREAM, can't I?)
It's a quiet weekend for us...I've been reading and crocheting, emptied the fridge out and washed it all, cleaned the upper and the lower bathrooms. JB is downstairs..it seems that the lines from our sump pump in the basement are frozen and that means the sump pump cannot get rid of all the mel****er that seeps into the sump hole drainage..thats all we need ..a basement flood. I guess that's why he is so cranky....sheesh.
My new lamps are still in their packing boxes and in my trunk because our concrete driveway is icy and I'm not touching them til the driveway is bone-dry and I won't slip and fall.
LilyRose has developed a bad habit...she wakes me around 3 am every night...leaping up from the floor ...pouncing...and landing on my middle..then she curls up on my head for a while..leaves.... and pounces me again about an hour later. She pushes the door open if it's closed. We are headed for a serious discussion this afternoon!
I'm making another big pot of beef & barley soup...boy, that smells good! I think I will have a cup....enjoy your day!
